President Gregory Washington is joined by TreQ founder and CEO Mandy Birch and director of George Mason's Quantum Science and Engineering Center Patrick Vora to discuss establishing the Virginia Quantum Hub at George Mason.

Through a growing series of professional development opportunities, George Mason’s Quantum Science and Engineering Center (QSEC) is partnering with K-12 educators to make quantum science approachable, relevant, and practical for students.

With support from a $3.7 million GO Virginia grant, ɫƵ will establish the Virginia Quantum Hub (VQH) — an inclusive quantum ecosystem, built by public–private partnerships, that generates intellectual property across research and technology, attracts capital investments, trains a highly skilled workforce, and addresses global innovation needs, from health and logistics to national security and energy sectors.

As South Korea accelerates its national investment in quantum science and technology, ɫƵ's Quantum Science and Engineering Center (QSEC) is strengthening its engagement with the country's leading research institutions and regional innovation partners.

This summer, ɫƵ hosted the Pathways to Quantum Immersion Program, preparing high school students for careers in the rapidly emerging field of quantum science.

ɫƵ received $1 million from the National Science Foundation to establish a program providing hands-on nanofabrication training and education to people seeking a career change.

George Mason received a $1.25 million grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to launch a postdoctoral fellowship program that will prepare recent PhD graduates to be leaders in quantum education and workforce development research. The program focuses on addressing challenges in quantum education, particularly in building an inclusive and equitable workforce.

To excite high school students about the promise of quantum technologies and to prepare them for this future, ɫƵ and Connected DMV joined forces to lead a Pathways to Quantum Immersion Program in July.

ɫƵ President Gregory Washington told the Board of Visitors (BOV) on Thursday, Feb. 23, that “there may not be a better place in the state to make an investment” than Mason.
